Work Group Planning Meeting – From Outreach to Academic Fulfillment: Tweaking the Process and the Products

Selected OIC staff will attend an all-day planning and strategy workshop session on Tuesday, March 17, 2020 at the Dixon University Center in Harrisburg. The meeting will begin at 8:30 a.m. and end at 3:30 p.m. The meeting facilitator is Arleen Shulman. Be prepared to brainstorm about how we can develop an agency-wide action plan to move our students successfully through our program services to best meet their academic and vocational goals.

PURPOSE:  Identify improvements to OIC’s practices and academic classes that could increase potential student participation, persistence and achievement in academic programs for the 2020-21 school year, including our employment, vocational and support programs since they are both entrance and exit ramps to academic activities.

FORMAT:  The meeting will follow the experience of typical students as they move through OIC.  Each agenda item will start with a summary of what we do now and what we know about effectiveness, followed by a discussion guided by questions, and then development of action items and resources needed for implementation.
