Commute PA wants to help YOU find the best option for your commute to work/school. You can earn rewards for choosing green transportation!
Commute PA is a free resource providing transportation options for your work commute. If you carpool at least twice a week to work, be sure to record it in Commute PA. You will automatically be eligible for our Emergency Ride Home progrqam. Read all the details and instructions within Commute PA under the "more" section

What is the Emergency Ride Home Program:

Our Emergency Ride Home (ERH) program is a free reimbursement for a ride home from work or school in the event of a qualified emergency. The ERH program is for commuters using a green mode to travel to work or school.

An Emergency Ride Home is available to those who:
  • Are enrolled in Commute PA prior to the emergency situation
  • Have a completed profile with home and work locations
  • Are recording at least two green trips per week
In the event of a qualified emergency, you find and pay for your ride home from work or school. Once the trip is complete, redeem and complete the ERH form found in the app or online. Please see the website for more details and FAQ's at www.commutepa.org/erh

How to Join:

  1. Join Commute PA by downloading the app or visiting my.commutepa.org
  2. Complete your profile with commuting details, including home address and organization.
  3. Research your commute options to find what works best for you!
  4. Start using that mode to get to work/school, record it, and earn rewards (like discounts/coupons or gift cards)

After you complete your profile, you'll have access to:

  • SEARCH for carpool buddies
  • FIND available transit routes
  • RECORD your green trips (carpool, vanpool, bike, walk, transit, telecommute or compressed work week)
  • SYNC your bike or walk trips
  • EARN points for every green trip you record
  • TRACK your impact
  • REDEEM your points for discounts and monthly drawings
  • GET reimbursed for an emergency ride home

Who is Eligible:

To enroll in Commute PA, you must be at least 18 years old and live, work, or go to school in Adams, Berks, Cumberland, Dauphin, Franklin, Lancaster, Lebanon, Perry, or York county

How to Find a Ride

  • Select "Find Rides" on the website or "Rides" in the app
  • Select "For my commute (to work or school)"
    • On the website: Under "Matches," click where it shows # of carpoolers
    • In the Commute PA app: Click on the Car icon below the map
  • Click on potential carpool profiles to view more info & see their locations on the map
  • Send a message explaining your situation
  • When you find a good match, plan the carpool details

How to Record Green Trips

  • Click on th trips tab; click record; click new trip
  • Select mode (i.e. carpool or transit)
  • Make sure your home address is listed as the origin and destination is your new employer
  • Commute? Yes for work/school
  • Round Trip? Yes if used both to and from

JFT Recovery and Veterans Support Services is a non-profit 501(c)3 organization devoted to offering our community safe, structured and compassionate services. We provide many services and resources through our programs. Programs and services include: Warm Handoff Program, Recovery and Reentry, Veterans Program, Housing Program, Education/Vocation/Job Training Program, Training Academy, food banks, clothing closets, hygiene hub and coffee shops for Cumberland, Perry, Dauphin, York, and Adams counties.
