Health / Medical Training

Only available to road to success students at this time

Certified Nurse Aide

The Nurse Aide training program is a 120-hour program that prepares a student to become a vital member of the health care team. This program will train you for work in a healthcare organization, long term care facility or with a home health company. Program topics include how to bathe/shower and dress a resident, denture care, how to properly feed a resident, how to get them safely into or out of a bed or chair, privacy, infection control and resident rights.

Students successfully completing this program receive a certificate of completion from HACC. They will also be eligible to take the National Nurse Aide Assessment Program (NNAAP) examination administered by Credentia.

Upon passing both the NNAAP written and skills performance exam, the student is placed on the PA Nurse Aide Registry. A student who successfully completes the nurse aide training program can be employed for 120 days before they must take the NNAAP examination.

Certified Clinical Medical Assistant

The Medical Assistant program is a 336-hour program that prepares a student to become a Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA). This program will train you to work in a hospital, doctor’s office, or outpatient health center.

The program includes an introduction to healthcare, medical terminology, anatomy, human illness and disease and essential skills training. Medical Assistants help with the examination and treatment of patients under the direction of a physician, interview patients, measure vital signs, and record information for medical records. Medical Assistants may be required to draw and collect blood samples and prepare specimens for laboratory analysis.

Students successfully completing this program will receive a certificate of completion from HACC. They will also be eligible to take the National Healthcareer Association’s Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) certification examination and be prepared to work as an entry-level medical assistant.
